The Dalhousie Tigers are your 2024 MUFLL Champions

Nov. 03, 2024

12 consecutive championships? The Dal Tigers managed to pull off the feat to cap off an unbeaten 2024 season this past Sunday.

Coming into the Championship game with a younger team than in previous years, the Tigers were given all they could handle in the first half by the X-men, who looked and played like the more experienced team. It could be said that all the pressure was on the Tigers (as it usually is), who were looking to win their 12th consecutive championship and came out showing the nerves. The X-men managed to capitalize on some sloppy offensive possessions by Dalhousie, taking a 3-1 lead at Halftime.

Dalhousie's experienced coaching staff led by Connor DuBreuil made all the right halftime adjustments, much to the dismay of the STFX fans in attendance. Dal came out in the 3rd quarter and put up 4 goals to take a big lead at 5-3 going into the 4th quarter. STFX managed to cut the Tigers' lead to 7-6 with just a few minutes left, but the Tigers managed to put them away with stout defence down the stretch.

Player of the game for Dalhousie was attackman Zane Fletcher who contributed timely goals, supreme hustle, and a calmness on offence for the Tigers. For STFX, it was Goalie Keigan Horne, who kept the X-Men in the game all afternoon despite the loss.

See you in 2025 for more exciting action on the field!
